Tareq invited his fiancee once in a while to a new Chinese restaurant in Ramallah since it opened recently.

"I always dreamt of eating in a Chinese restaurant," said Tareq, "so as soon as I heard about it, I invited my fiancee to dine here. "

Ali al-Dali's Chinese restaurant is becoming popular among local residents since he opened the restaurant in his home town of Ramallah not long ago.

He decorated the place in traditional Chinese style and prepared special Chinese meals to give visitors a real taste of Chinese Restaurant.

"The food here is tasty, healthy and not very expensive," said Tareq, adding that "it's such a good thing that the Palestinian territories offer a large variety of food.

Nahed also enjoyed coming with her family to the restaurant to taste the Chinese food using chopsticks.

"It is really amazing. The place is fantastic, it makes me feel like I'm in a Chinese town," said Nahed.

Al-Dali said he would like to invite Chinese citizens living or working in the West Bank to provide him with ideas and advices. "I wish one day, I can visit China and learn more."

He showed the menu to his customers, with Chinese food that looked quite authentic. "These meals are well received by my customers," al-Dali said.

"My idea to open a Chinese restaurant succeeded, simply because there is no other Chinese restaurants in the Palestinian territories, and people here admire the Chinese heritage and the Chinese rituals," said al-Dali, adding "we are Asian, and the Chinese food is close to our culture."

Speaking to one of his customers, al-Dali said "The Chinese food is healthy, always including fresh vegetables, the meals are not expensive and everybody can come and try our food and our delicious meals."

After his restaurant became famous, he opened another branch in the village of Ein Yabrood near Ramallah. In the village, there are so many residents who have been travelling all over the world, and they had tried several times the Chinese food abroad, and wanted to have it in their village.

"I'm planning to open other new branches all over the West Bank, " said al-Dali, adding that the most famous meal his restaurants are serving is "Sichuan" food which is a mixture of spicy, sweet and salty flavors, and that the customers always ask for this meal either to eat in the restaurant or to take away.

Al-Dali's restaurant also offers other meals such as the Kompao Chicken, or diced chicken with spicy soy sauce, and chicken with sesame. He said he has never been to China, but had worked in an Israeli restaurant that served Chinese food for several years, where he learned how to cook.

He always smiles to the customers when they ask for Chinese meals and chopsticks. Inside the restaurant, he managed to maintain a Chinese atmosphere, where the Chinese national flags and red lanterns were hung at every corner.

"The Chinese people are a great nation with an ancient civilization. Their experience and the way they developed their country and its economy is amazing," said al-Dali, adding that the secret of his restaurant becoming attractive "is because the Palestinian people love China and the Chinese people."
