Fish Seller Lady

This is a rare figurine made by Meissen in about 1742. A lady selling fish. She isn't as spectacular as the Harlequins or Commedia dell'Arte but nontheless spectacular and quite old! Wish I looked this good after that many years :) The lady is simply painted and but that shows the detail off very nicely and is probably a perfect presentation of what an actual fish selling lady would have looked like 260 plus years ago which is the part I find amazing! She is holding a large fish in her hands - not sure what kind - and has a basket with lots of smaller fish by her side. She is wearing a hat type thing, a nice skirt with an apron and no shoes. There are nice leaves and flowers by her feet. She is in good condition but as one can expect there are some flaws. Her hat has some of the black color flaking, the foot that is sticking out has a chip to the front but it's not too bad, the fish tail has a small chip and she is missing the thumb on her left hand! There is also a flaw on the back of her skirt and the base which I suspect happend when she got stuck to something else duing the firing and two leaves are chipped. The piece is quite heavy and is 7.5 inches tall. It is unmarked but obviously Meissen. Flat base underneath typical of these early pieces with a hole in it and a museum ID # where she used to be.
