II. Teaching Aim： Enable students to improve their writing skills. III. Teaching Key Points： 1．Understand the detailed rules in writing. 2．Understand the kinds of mistakes which will lead to low marks in writing. 3．Be able to use conjunctions, advanced vocabulary and complex sentences in    writing. IV. Teaching Procedures Step 1. Leading in 1.      Present a composition with some mistakes to the students and get them to correct the mistakes in it. 2.  Display detailed rules in writing. Get the students to know the small mistakes and big mistakes in a composition by practicing. 高考阅卷作文的评分细则. 一．优秀（26—29）     要点全面紧扣主题，观点表达充分，能有效使用连接成分，具备较强的书面表达能力。语言小错（拼写，标点）不超过四个，不能有一处大错。 二．良好（22---25）     要点全面紧扣主题，观点表达较充分，语言有少量错误，（大错不超过三个）但基本不影响意思表达。 三．一般（18—21）     要点全面，紧扣主题。语言表达基本充分，语言错误影响部分意思的表达，但多数句子基本正确。 四、较差（13---17）     能够写出基本要点，（包括三个大要点）行文不连贯，语言错误较多，半数句子基本正确。 小错：单词拼写，冠词，大小写，标点符号错误。 大错：搭配错误，词语用错（介词，名词，动词，形容词副词，主谓一致，非谓语动词），句式结构。 Practice 改正下面句子中出现的大错。 1.       I'm looking forward to receive your letter. 2.  More than one student like this movie. 3.  Considering from this point of view, the question will be great importance. 4.        Wasn't it until Michael ran into me when he recognized I was once his partner?  Step 2. Discussion       Go through a composition of 2008 NEMT papers and discuss: 1.      If you are a teacher, which level will you grade? 2.      Why was the composition given a high mark? Step 3. Conclusion       According to the discussion, we have reached a conclusion that we should use some conjunctions, advanced vocabulary and complex sentences to in our writing to help us get a high mark. Step 4. Practice Have a look again at the former composition and find out the three key points in it. Step 5. Sum up       Summarize that if we want to write an excellent composition, we must avoid mistakes, use conjunctions, advanced vocabulary and complex sentences. Step 6. Drills 1.      Correct the mistakes in a composition. 2.      Rewrite a composition in a better way by using some conjunctions, advanced vocabulary and complex sentences. Step 7. Homework       Write a composition after class. If time permitting, have a discussion in class.     假如你是李华，目睹了近年来你所在城市的变化。你写了一篇有关城市变化及所带来的思考的短文寄给某英语报社。短文包括
