QQ At home against Horizonte-CE in the first leg of the round of 16 in the Brazilian Cup on Wednesday, Flamengo struggled to produce a 1-1 draw.Flamengo scored the game's opening goal in the 17th minute. From the left side of the field, Negueba centered the ball to Wanderley who quickly dominated the ball and spun around to fire a perfect shot past keeper.
Horizonte was able to tie the match after receiving a penalty kick in the 38th minute. Horizonte's Siloe dribbled through the entire Flamengo defense before being tackled by David inside the goalie box. Elanardo converted the penalty kick, firing the ball into the upper left corner of the Flamego goal, tying the match.
The second and defining leg will be held at Horizonte-CE on April 27. A scoreless draw will lead to Flamengo's elimination. A repeat of Wednesday's result will lead to a decision by way of penalties. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals.
The winner of the 2011 Brazilian Cup earns a ticket to play in the 2012 Libertadores Cup.
