A Brief Introduction of No.1 High School of Liaocheng

聊城一中始建于1942年冬，前身先后为泰西公学、冀鲁豫第四中学、平原省立聊城中学，1953年2月更名为山东省聊城第一中学，是山东省首批办好的19所重点中学之一，聊城市第一所省级规范化中学。现有66个教学班，学生3600余人，在编教职工人数257人。

No.1 High School of Liaocheng was founded in the winder of 1942, formerly known successively as the West Tai Public 
School, No.4 Middle School of Heibei,Shandong and Henan, and Provincial Liaocheng School of Pingyuan. It was renamed as 
No.1 High School of Liaocheng in Shandong Province in February 1953. It is one of the first 19 key middle schools in Shandong
 Province, and the first provincial standardized secondary school of Liaocheng city. Right now, it has 66 classes with more than 
3600 students and teaching and administrative staff of 257. 
学校在内部管理上实行校长负责制，教职工全员聘任制，岗位责任制和结构工资制。学校内设行政办公室、综合科、政教处、团委、保卫科、心理咨询中心、教务处、教研室、电教中心、总务处、生活科和6个年级组办公室，共17个中层管理科室，每科室只有一位科长或主任，没有中层副职。    The school has a pincipal accountability system, an appointive employment system for all teaching and administrative staff, 
personal responsibility and structural wage system. The administrative branches consist of executive office, general department, 
teaching and guiding office, Youth League committee, security section, psycho consulting room, academic administration, teaching
 and research section, audio-visual centre, Office of General Services, food and beverage department and six classroom groups, and each of the 17 middle 
administrative branches has only one section chief or director. 

坚持“以学生终身发展为本,不仅为学生的阶段性发展负责，更要为学生的终身发展负责”的办学理念，大力推行素质教育和创新教育。2002年被中央教科所审定为全国创新教育示范学校。先后有两名学生获中央电视台“三星智力快车”月冠军和年度总冠军。我校学生在2009年8月台湾举办的海峡两岸高中生辩论赛上取得优异成绩。2010年1月在中国爱心工程委员会、中国公益事业联合会举办的“盛世炎黄·爱心行动全国才艺展示大赛”上，我校学生合唱团夺得金奖。

Sticking to the idea that students' life-long development is our principal, not only responsible for the phased development of the students, but also for the life-long developent of them, the school vigorously promotes quality and innovative education.It was approved by the central 
innovative education institute as a model school of  education innovation in the year 2002.  Successively two students from 
our school won "Samsung intelligence Express" monthly and the annual championships programmed by China Central 
Television. Our students got outstanding results in the debate held in Taiwan, between the students from Taiwan and Mainland  in
 August 2009 . In January 2010 , our school won a Gold Medal in " Golden Age Chinese Kind-heart and Talent Show 
Contest" founded by China's Love Project Committee and the Chinese public welfare Association.

坚持科研立校，不断探索课堂教学改革。始终坚持“从最后一名学生抓起，对全体学生负责”的教学理念，推行“低重心运行”的教学策略，实行“分组学习”和“教学案一体化”教学模式，成功推行选课走班制教学和“自助餐式”体育教学。学校先后被审定为省科研  型重点实验学校、省普通高中新课程改革实验定点联系学校、省校本研究实验学校等。

Adhere to Scientific research is the base, our school continues to carry out a classroom teaching reform. Insist on the 
education idea that " Start the work with caring the poorest student in academic work , and be responsible for all the students" , 
the school uses the teaching strategies named " run with low center of gravity" as well as the teaching mode called "Group learning"
 and "Teaching-Learning all in one piece of paper". It gives the students right to choose their regular courses and "Buffet PE 
courses". The school has been identified as Provincial Key Laboratory School of Scientific Research , New Curriculum
 Reform Designated Contact School and Provincial School-based Research Experimental School. 

高考及奥赛成绩显著

近年来，教育教学质量大幅提升。２０１１年高考中有８６％的应届生进入大学本科深造。自2005年至今，我校每年有10人以上获数、理、化、生、信息技术竞赛全国一等奖，获一等奖人数占聊城市的100％，有两人曾进入国家集训队。学校每年都被授予全国中学生数、理、化、生竞赛奥赛金牌学校。2010年有107人次获得名牌大学保送或加分录取资格。 

Remarkable Academic and Olympics Achievements 

In recent years, its education quality has increased significantly. In the College entrance exam in 2011, 86 percent of the
 fresh students were admitted to nice universities. Since 2005, more than 10 students annually won the first prize in academic 
olympics in mathematics, physics,chemistry, biology, information technology,covering all the first prizes of Liaocheng City. 
Once there were two of them gainning the train from the State Training Group. Each year the school was awarded the 
National School Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology Olympiad gold medal race school. In 2010, 107 people 
walked or get extra points in admission qualification from prestigious universites.

英语教学特色及成果

学校推行123教学改革，在提高课堂教学效率的同时，积极开设阅读和听力课。 教改促使学生学习兴趣和成绩普遍提高。尤其是在近年来，在六环节合作教学课堂模式下，外语教师大胆探索出适合自己的具体教学特色。 外语成绩一直是我校的一大亮点。学生在“全国英语能力竞赛”、“创新作文大赛”等比赛中屡获佳绩。这也得到学生、家长以及社会的广泛认可。在与德国、美国、澳大利亚等国学生的国际交流中，我校学生也正在展露自己的头角。

The school is carrying out an 123 style English Teaching Reform, putting on more efforts on English reading and listening 
with the aim of high efficency of lassroom teaching. The classroom reform has greatly motivated students and improved their 
academic level. Especially in recent years, using the Six-Stage-Cooperative Learning mode, English teachers have bravely explored new methods and got their own teaching styles. 
The academic achievements of our students are highlights of the school. Many students won prizes in "National English Proficiency Contest for Secondary Students" , 
"National Innovative English Essay Contest". It thus has been widely recognized by the students, parents and the communites. During the International Communication 
with foreign students from German, USA or Australia etc. our students also are showing their elegance and talents.
