One soldier killed, 3 wounded in PKK attack in E Turkey

Increases the bookmark A group of PKK members opened fire on a military vehicle in Saray town of eastern Van province, Van Governor Munir Karaloglu was quoted as saying.
Two of the wounded soldiers underwent surgery, and the third one was in good condition, Karaloglu said.
Listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, the PKK took up arms in 1984 in order to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey.
Some 40,000 people have been killed in conflicts involving the PKK for the past over two decades.
