An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted Papua, Indonesia, at 15:47 local time (0647 GMT) on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 86.80 km, was initially determined to be at 3.06 degrees south latitude and 139.67 degrees east longitude, about 128 km west-southwest of Jayapura, Irian Jaya, Indonesia, the USGS said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
