Indonesia is scheduled to host the 16th ministerial meeting of countries joined in Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Bali from May 25 to 27, aimed at drafting the movement's future vision, an Indonesian senior official said on Friday.

"Besides commemorating 50 years of NAM, the meeting would be designated to find the movement's role in global community in the next 50 years," Michael Tene, spokesperson of Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry told a press briefing here.

Michael said that in the upcoming meeting, the NAM would receive the joining of Fiji and Azerbaijan in the organization, makes its total members reach 120 countries, or accounted for 60 percent of the United Nations (UN) member countries.

Michael added that at the end of the meeting, delegations would declare "Bali Commemorative Declaration", aimed at commemorating the movement's summit that has been active in the last 50 years after it was first held in Beograd, Yugoslavia in 1961.

He said that the upcoming meeting would be organized by Indonesia and Egypt that acts as the sitting NAM chair. The next NAM summit would be held in Iran in 2012. Iran would take over the NAM chair from Egypt at that time, Michael added.

Delegations attending the NAM ministerial would address the world's current issue, among others climate change, pandemic and food security, seek contributions in partly settling those problems.

Michael said that discussions on current political issues in the Middle East is also possibly discussed in the meeting as it would also be attended by delegations from that region.
