External contacts of CPC go beyond ideological diversity

Just before the day of the 90th anniversary of Communist Party of China (CPC), its senior officials pointed out that current CPC is not quit same with the one before and it not decides to make friend with others according to the ideology any more.

Current CPC doesn’t want to associate with illegal and ultra political parties, and doesn’t approve to overthrow a government by military force. Analysts believe the stop exporting revolutions is the biggest change of CPC after Chairman Mao’s period.

VOA says in a long time, CPC supported worldwide revolutions, supported people under hammers to fight against and called new era through turning over sharply. At that time, Mao always said “our friends are all over the world,” but actually, CPC only made friends with Communist parties and labor’s parties in the world.

However, things went to different since China’s reform and opening up. An official from the international Department of Central committee CPC said that China now keeps contacts with more than 600 parties in over 160 countries.

Ai Ping, the Deputy Minister of the Department, said: We clarify the four principles of “independence, equality, mutual respect and mutual non-interference” during communications with other political parties, and advocate the mutual understanding and cooperation beyond the ideological diversity.

Ai stressed that CPC usually would not get along with illegal and ultra political parties in the world when he answered a question from an Indian journalist. And he said: “The most typical example is CPC never contact with the so-called Indian Communist Party (an ultra party). CPC had ever said we would like to support the worldwide revolutions, but we don’t approve to overthrow an illegal government through military force.”

Since last year, CPC even started the high level dialogue with the Democratic Party and Republican Party of United States, a country we usually called as all-evil. Huang Huaguang, the spokesman of the Department, said so. He also told VOA that CPC keeps contact with American Communist Party, but he said CPC would discuss different issues with different parties.

Some people may question that the change of CPC’s position is due to outside situations or inner characters since CPC itself got development through years of military fighting.

Regarding that Ai Ping said CPC always insist to “advance with times,” and the series of CPC’s decisions were made after the deep consideration about situations of world, our country and our party; since the worldwide situations changed a lot, CPC’s policies and routes will also change correspondingly.

At the same time, Ai also said such changes of CPC’s position do have something to do with its self changes. He said the process of CPC developed from a party lead revolution to a party leads reform and opening up is a kind of qualitative change.

But Ai also stressed that CPC’s ideal, theoretical principle and goals never changed.
